On council tax, 11 of the 12 councils we cover here add a 100% premium on furnished homes that are nobody’s main home. Torfaen had not announced one when we last checked.

- Business rates at 252 and 182 daysAvailable for 252 days and let for 182 in a year, and a home pays business rates. Since April 2026 the 182 days can be averaged over up to three years.
