Our house is a short walk from Folkestone Harbour, with two bedrooms upstairs and a double sofa bed, sleeping six. One bedroom has a zip-link bed that can be a king or, with 24 hours’ notice, two singles. It has a newly fitted kitchen, a washer-dryer, Wi-Fi and a dining table for six, and up to two dogs are allowed. There is no parking at the house. It suits a small crew, a couple of engineers or dog owners. For bigger teams, or if it is booked, we look for checked partner homes nearby and tell you straight away if nothing fits.   • New homes in Folkestone

    Folkestone Harbour and Seafront has outline planning permission for up to 1,000 homes. The first 84 are finished, and the council approved detailed plans for later phases in July 2025. Army land at the former Shorncliffe Garrison was released for up to 1,200 homes. A phase of 355 was partly built at the council’s last update in November 2025.1,2,3

  • Hospitals in Folkestone and Ashford

    East Kent Hospitals serves around 700,000 people and runs William Harvey Hospital in Ashford, which has an A&E, maternity care and a specialist cardiology unit. In Folkestone, the Royal Victoria Hospital has an urgent treatment centre, open 8am to 8pm. Locums and agency staff need somewhere close for weeks at a time.4,5,6,7

  • The Channel Tunnel terminal

    Getlink’s Eurotunnel terminal is on the western edge of Folkestone. A new building for the EU’s Entry/Exit System, with room for 53 vehicles, was finished there in August 2024. The new checks began at Eurotunnel’s terminals on 12 October 2025. Engineers and contractors working at the terminal need somewhere close by.8,9

Our house is a short walk from Folkestone Harbour, close to the Harbour and Seafront development. The Channel Tunnel terminal and the former Shorncliffe Garrison are on the western side of the town. William Harvey Hospital is in Ashford, further west along the M20. Your shortlist shows the drive time from each home to your site.
